PlotDrip Privacy Policy

Last Updated: November 7, 2025

This Privacy Policy describes how VecType LLC ("VecType," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information in connection with PlotDrip, including our apps, websites, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice, for example in-app, by email, or by updating this date.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use the Service:

  • Account Information: email address, display name, profile details, and authentication identifiers (for example identifiers from third-party single sign-on providers). We may also keep basic account metadata such as creation date and status.
  • User Content: stories, chapters, pages, characters, images, audio, video, prompts, chat messages, comments or reactions, and related metadata you upload or create. Public content is visible to others; private content is visible to you and those you share with.
  • AI Feature Data: prompts, inputs, voice samples, settings, provider metadata (for example model name or request IDs), and outputs necessary to provide text or image generation, text-to-speech or voice cloning, and scene or video features.
  • Purchase and Entitlement Data: product IDs, order or receipt identifiers, subscription status, and credit balances. Payments are processed by app stores; we do not collect full payment card details. We may use a third-party subscription infrastructure provider to manage entitlements.
  • Device and Usage Data: device type, operating system version, app version, language or region, device identifiers (including Apple's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) and the Google Advertising ID), logs of interactions such as likes, follows, content views, ad impressions or clicks, crash or error diagnostics from third-party services (including a Google-operated crash reporter), and basic network event data.
  • Advertising and Measurement Data: ad request IDs, ad unit identifiers, coarse device signals provided by platform APIs (such as AppTrackingTransparency consent status, region, or approximate age band), and engagement data needed to deliver and measure third-party advertisements.
  • Security and Integrity Signals: device integrity or attestation tokens and similar security signals used to detect fraud and abuse and protect the Service and users.
  • Support Communications: information you provide when you contact support or participate in surveys or feedback programs.

We do not intentionally collect precise geolocation. If you grant camera, photos, microphone, or file access, we use it to let you capture or upload media or for voice features.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Operate, maintain, and provide the Service and core features including synchronization, media hosting, sharing, search, and social functionality.
  • Provide AI features such as text or image generation, voice features, and scene or video creation, and improve their safety, relevance, and quality.
  • Authenticate users, secure accounts, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect our users and the Service.
  • Process purchases and manage subscriptions, entitlements, and credit balances.
  • Diagnose problems, debug and monitor performance, and enhance reliability.
  • Display in-app advertising, tailor what ads you see, and measure ad delivery and performance through third-party ad networks.
  • Communicate with you about the Service, updates, security, and support.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

3. AI Providers and Data Handling

  • To provide AI features, we send certain inputs such as prompts, text, images, or voice samples to third-party AI service providers and receive outputs. We instruct these providers to use inputs and outputs only to deliver the requested features and we rely on their published safety safeguards.
  • We configure providers, where available, to prevent training on your private content beyond what is necessary to process your request. We do not grant providers rights to use your private content for their own marketing or training, except as necessary to deliver the requested output or as you separately agree with them.
  • We may analyze de-identified, aggregated, or pseudonymized data (including prompts and outputs) to improve our safety systems, quality, and features.

4. When We Share Information

We share information in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: with vendors that provide infrastructure and services such as hosting and storage, database or authentication, AI providers, crash or error reporting (including a Google-operated crash reporter), advertising and measurement networks, subscription infrastructure, federated sign-in providers, and email or support tooling. These providers process information on our behalf subject to contracts.
  • Other Users: content you set to public is visible to others. Content you share with specific users is available to those users.
  • Legal, Safety, and Compliance: to comply with law, legal process, or lawful requests; to protect the rights, property, or safety of users and the public; to detect and respond to abuse; and to meet child safety obligations. We report apparent child sexual abuse material to NCMEC and appropriate authorities.
  • Business Transfers: in connection with mergers, acquisitions, financing, or sale of assets, subject to continued protection consistent with this Policy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Third-party advertising partners may process data for cross-app behavioral advertising consistent with their own policies.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use local storage and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and support app functionality. When we show ads, our advertising partners rely on device identifiers and in-app storage rather than browser cookies to deliver and measure ads.

6. Advertising, Analytics, and Your Choices

  • Advertising: we work with third-party mobile ad networks to display ads in PlotDrip. These partners receive device identifiers (IDFA or GAID, or a platform-provided alternative), approximate device information such as language, region, and model, and interaction data such as ad views, clicks, and the screen you were on to select and measure ads, detect fraud, and comply with their policies. They may combine this data with information from other apps or the web to build ad profiles or deliver personalized ads.
  • Analytics and Diagnostics: we also use the information described above to understand aggregate engagement, such as how many times an ad unit was shown, and to troubleshoot failed ad requests or app crashes (including through a Google-operated crash-reporting service).
  • Choices on iOS: Apple’s AppTrackingTransparency prompt lets you control whether we and our partners can track your activity across apps and websites. You can change this decision anytime in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, and reset your IDFA from Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking > Reset Advertising Identifier.
  • Choices on Android: you can reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalization, from Settings > Privacy > Ads (wording may vary by device).
  • In-App Controls: where we provide an ad-personalization toggle, we pass that signal to our ad partners. Even if you opt out, you may still see ads; they may simply be less relevant.

We do not sell your personal information. You can contact us if you need additional details about our ad partners.

7. Data Retention

  • Account data is retained for the life of the account and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal obligations, maintain security, and for backup and archival purposes.
  • Content and media may persist in backups and caches for a limited time after deletion. If your content has been re-shared or included by others, copies may remain visible to those users.
  • Logs and diagnostic data such as crash reports are typically retained for security, legal, or operational reasons.

8. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access, Correction, Deletion: where required by law, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Use in-app controls where available or contact us at support@plotdrip.com.
  • Account Deletion: you can request deletion via Delete Account. Deleting your account removes personal identifiers and severs links to anonymized content; information embedded in uploaded content such as names inside a story may persist as part of the content itself.
  • Push Notifications: you can control push notifications via your device settings.

Residents of California (CCPA or CPRA) and the EEA or UK (GDPR or UK GDPR) may have additional rights, including the right to data portability and to object to or restrict certain processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

9. International Transfers

We are based in the United States and process information in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses for cross-border transfers.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for individuals 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect, maintain, or solicit personal information from children under 13 or from minors where a higher age threshold applies. Certain parts of the Service may offer optional age or date-of-birth fields, for example to tailor experiences or apply additional safety measures. If you choose to provide this information, it must be accurate, and we use it only as described in this Policy, for example to apply age-based restrictions or protections.

If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child contrary to these requirements, we will promptly take steps to secure the account, delete the personal information (subject to legal obligations to retain evidence), and, where feasible, notify a parent or legal guardian. Parents or guardians who believe that their child has used the Service may contact us at support@plotdrip.com to request review, deletion, and to exercise any applicable rights. We may require additional verification to protect child safety before acting on such requests.

We maintain internal logs of child-safety reports, including those submitted through in-app reporting tools, and review them promptly. When we detect or receive reports suggesting imminent harm or the presence of child sexual abuse material, we remove or disable access to the content, suspend the relevant accounts, and make manual reports to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and other appropriate authorities as required by law. We may retain limited records of such reports to comply with legal obligations and to prevent repeat abuse.

11. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for activities under your account.

12. Third-Party Links and Services

Third-party services and websites linked or integrated with the Service have their own privacy policies and terms. We are not responsible for their practices.
